Is Roof Maxx right for my Roof?
Your roofing system has two important components:
Asphalt Shingles — the protective surface that covers your home.
Flashing — the metal installed around walls, chimneys, vents, and other roof penetrations to help prevent water intrusion.
When flashing is installed properly, it can remain effective for decades. If you haven’t experienced recurring leaks around these areas, that’s usually a good indication the flashing was installed correctly.
Asphalt shingles age differently. Over time, the oils that help keep shingles flexible and weather-resistant begin to dry out. Similar to asphalt pavement, shingles can gradually become more brittle and increasingly vulnerable to cracking and deterioration.
That’s where Roof Maxx can help. Our treatment is designed to restore flexibility to aging shingles by replenishing essential oils that have been lost over time. This helps shingles remain flexible as temperatures change, improves their ability to resist water, and can help reduce cracking and breakage. Maintaining flexibility can also help shingles retain more of their protective granules, which play an important role in shielding the roof from damaging UV exposure.
We don’t recommend Roof Maxx for every roof.
Roof Maxx may not be the right solution if:
Your roof has experienced repeated leaks or ongoing problems that suggest installation or structural issues. In those situations, replacement may be the better long-term solution.
Approximately 30% or more of the protective granules have already been lost. At that point, the shingles may be too deteriorated to benefit from treatment, and replacement may be recommended.
